You need to take the licensing exam in the state in which you want to work. You must have graduated from a nursing school that is accredited and , if you do not have recent experience you will need to take a review course. You can use the site below to contact the appropriate board of nursing. You will also need a work visa for the U.S. See 2nd site.

What are requirement to work in Canada for Foreign Educated (Indian GNM Diploma) Nurse

What are requirement to work in Canada for Foreign Educated (Indian GNM Diploma) Nurse?
I am a Registered Nurse in India I have done General Nursing and Midwifery 3 years fulltime diploma course, and I have 5 years plus experience. Recently I have also given academic IELTS exam and scored overall 6.0 band (Listening 6, Reading 5.5, Writing 5.5, Speaking 6). I want to migrate to Canada with my husband and son. I am planning to apply under “Federal Skilled Worker immigration” I have following queries. I would be grateful if you could provide me answers for these questions or tell me any other way to work in Canada as Nurse. Thanks allot. 1) What are the steps I will need to perform to Migrate to Canada? 2) My IELTS 6.0 BANDS will be considered for Language Skills points or I should give IELTS exam again? 3) Is NCLEX and Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) is compulsory to work in Canada as nurse? 4) Can I give CRNE exam online from India? 5) My relatives are in Canada if they arrange a regular nurse job (Not under arranged employment); will it help for the immigration process. 6) When I have calculated my points for immigration it comes to 65 – 67. So to secure the process, Can I apply under “Arranged Employment” or “Provincial Nomination Program”? 7) Where can I find a Job listing for “Provincial Nomination Program” category? I searched many sites but didn’t found anything specifically; Nurses requirement under Provincial Nomination Program.

Try to go through Healthmatch BC, see http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/provincialnominee/strategicoccupations/healthprofessionals.htm They are looking for nurses in BC for sure. If you try to apply as a federal skilled worker, since registered nurses are on the list of most wanted occupations, you can do this without a job offer but you must have at least 67 points. You can find the association of nurses in different provinces here: http://www.workdestinations.org/occupation_keyword_search.jsp?lang=en It will give you the contact information so you can ask them about licensing. In some cases it also has licensing information or you will find it on the nurses websites.

depending on which province you are working as a practical nurse...or LPN. and depending on how the employer would assess your work history, esp if you got your nursing degree outside canada. in manitoba, starting rate is $22 an hour.

What is the best place of opportunity for a filipino nurse? US, Europe, Australia, NZ or Canada? ?
I am a nursing student in the Philippines, and by this time I am looking for a nice place to work in the future. After I graduated, everything is okay. I just need to get all the requirements needed while getting experience in hospital setting and taking licensure exams. OPPORTUNITY in: * Salary * Place of work * Incentives * Days of Work... thanks! :)

You probably should have went to school and got your degree in nursing in the country you want to work in. It takes alot to get your degree to transfer to another country. America probably being the hardest. Lots of classes, exams, english proficiency testing, etc.

There is a critical shortage of nurses in the US and a ton of opportunities. Both my brother and sister-in-law are nurses and have worked for hospitals, private offices, and home care. You can find work just about anywhere in the US and the salary, incentives, and days worked depend on where you chose to work, and in what type of facility.

Speaking from New Zealand, we always need more nurses! And NZ is very culturally diverse. Salary wise I am not sure, I have a feeling that you might get paid more in other countries, but our way of life is cheaper quite often. Good luck in your decisions!

All countries around the world are after Nurses. It would depend on your qualifications as to where you could work. The best thing to do would be to contact the Nurses board of the countries you have mentioned and ask them some of these questions. The other questions you would have to speak to the prospective employer about.
