I think it's 4 years in a university and you have to be a bachelors of nursing, after the 4 years then you have to write a test. It used to be easier and shorter a long time ago and you only had to go to college. I wonder why we have a shortage of nurses now?

Your school and work credentials will have to be evaluated by the Nursing Board to tell you whether you need to take some schooling or not. Most graduates of foreign schools outside of North America are advised to take college units depending on experience. For more information, visit this link: http://www.cna-nurses.ca/cna/default_e.aspx Good luck. Canada needs nurses and other immigrants as it has negative population growth if you deduct immigration.

Marry me. I am single and I would love to marry a nurse. Other ways would be to keep applying. I think you also have to take an exam to work there.

www.cic.gc.ca might have some info for you. But I doubt that you will find Canada any speedier than the US.

She must 1st have a license in the country where is a nurse, then she can apply to immigrate to canada after necessary procedures...follow dis link..www.medhunters.com..i hope this helps u!

she must write the exam in Canada - she needs to go to canada as a visitor so she can write the exam and she must say nothing about this ti the border people. if she has already been refused entry then she has blown her chances. http://www.cna-aiic.ca/CNA/nursing/becoming/international/default_e.aspx Where can I obtain information about becoming licensed to practise nursing in Canada? Unlike many other countries the registration of nurses does not occur at the national level. In order to practise nursing you must be licensed or registered in the province or territory in which you will work. Licensing or registering bodies can also provide information about employment opportunities. They may have a referral service or be able to direct you to appropriate journals to find advertised positions or employer contacts. Will I need to write an examination to become licensed to practise in Canada? Canadian provinces and territories, with the exception of Québec, require that you write the Canadian Registered Nurses Examination as part of the registration or licensure process. At present, this examination can only be written in Canada on the recommendation of a provincial or territorial nurses association. The Canadian Nurses Association publishes The Canadian RN Exam Prep Guide, which you will find useful in preparing for the exam. Québec nurses have their own exam.

Sam D, you don't need any Canadian licenses to immigrate to Canada. But if you want to practice nursing or accounting, or any other profession that require a Canadian license, you would have to get it here when you officially immigrate here. All you need is atleast one year in your profession in your home country.
    4 :
Nursing licensing is a provincial issue so she needs to contact the college of nurses(licensing body) in the province that she wants to practice in. They will asses her education and give her permission to write the CPRNE (if her education is deemed the equivalent of ours) which is the national licensing exam. She will have to get a visa to come over and write the exam and return home after she has written it. Once she passes the exam and finds an employer she could apply for a working visa to come here and work. The whole process takes lots of time and money and most provinces are now requiring RNs to have a degree for licensure.

If you graduated in Canada you should have got the information for applying to write the CRNE from your school. You cannot practice without a nursing license and you need to apply to the provincial nursing authority to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam the site in the resource box has all the info you need for how to do this and is especially helpful for nurses who graduated in another country. It includes links to the provincial nursing authorities and English reuquirments and information on how the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam is put together.
    4 :
Did you go to school in Canada or are you coming from somewhere else? If you are a Canadian all you have to do is pass the CRNE exam and then start looking for a job.
