About having a decent job in Canada

About having a decent job in Canada......?
I'm a Registered Nurse in the Philippines. I have a degree and I pretty much have good grades. I was just wondering, would I have a good chance to find a decent job in Canada with my degree? I mean, if I could be hired easily because of the mere fact that I have a degree in Nursing. It doesn't necessarily be in a hospital.. hmm I'm thinking maybe in an office or something? I asked this because I am planning to go and work in Canada. Life here in the Philippines is really tough, like we are the most underpaid nurses in the whole wide world. I went to an expensive university (well at least for us it's already expensive since people here are underpaid). I want to make sure that I'll be compensated with my salary and the only choice I have is to work in Canada.

In order to be licensed as a nurse in Canada you would have to contact the college of nurses(our licensing bodies are called colleges) in the province you wanted to work in. They would assess your education and experience and decide if you were eligible to write the CRNE, which is the nursing exam in Canada. if you passed the exam you would be given a license. You would also have to apply for immigration. The whole process takes time and money. There is no guarantee that you would find a job. Nursing jobs are in short supply in many parts of Canada.Canada requires that you have a 4 year nursing degree.

How would i enroll in a Canadian University from New Zealand

How would i enroll in a Canadian University from New Zealand?
I live in New Zealand and I've only briefly looked into the possibility of going to University in Canada. Could some one provide a brief over view of how i would go about enrolling in a Canadian university (preferably a nursing degree, if that helps)? Thanks

The requirements depend on each individual university. So, the first steps are - finding what universities there are in Canada - finding which ones you want to attend - going to the website of each chosen univirsity and reading carefully the application requirements for foreign students. Note that unless you have Canadian citizenship, your education at a Canadian university may cost you a small fortune. Start here: http://www.university-canada.net/ Sample page for internatinal students with application requirements etc from UBC: http://www.students.ubc.ca/international/index.cfm

Me and my son (7months) live in New York. I am not done with my nursing degree yet. should I finish it in Canada or should I finish it here and then move to Canada. What about my husband? if I get status will he be able to join me and the baby in canada and get status to work and live there as well. Please, this is a very serious issue as I need to reunite my family again.

don't believe employers here sponsor people for long term immigration . suspect you have to apply for that yourself and state the reasons - either refugee status or skilled worker one where there is a points system , can maybe find out more about that on immigration governement/canada webiste .

What are high demand jobs in Canada

What are high demand jobs in Canada?
I will be going back to school to finish soon, and I really want to move to Canada. I would have a pretty successfull shot if I have a degree in anything, but what are some high demand general jobs? I figured nursing would be more for America, but maybe the credentials wouldnt be there for Canada. Thanks! Just looking for an idea of all jobs, not particularly medicine.
