Can i work as a nurse in US while im an immigrant in Canada

Can i work as a nurse in US while im an immigrant in Canada?
Im currently an immigrant (permanent resident) in Canada, and im a bs nursing degree holder. i earned it in a university in the philippines. i would like to go to us, how will i start? i mean do i hav to take NCLEX or CGFNS first before i apply?

Different states have different rules, though, you must take CGFNS and also NCLEX. Also you will have to get a work visa(H1C or H1B visa) or a sponsor for a green-card. For you the NAFTA visa does not apply because you are not yet a Canadian citizen.

yes. contact the medical board in your state to find out if they accept your degree or, if other classes have to added. i've know several canadian nurses who traveled around the US working temporary assignments, returning home in between.
