I am an American living in NZ. Try seek.co.nz. Once you find a position, the immigration process is fairly straightforward (but still tedious). Nurses are really needed in NZ, so you should be able to find a position. Just be aware that (compared with the U.S.) pay is generally lower here, the cost of living is high, and the standard of living is low. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions.

What is your citizenship? Where were you trained, educated, and what level of "nurse" are you? Your education and qualifications have to be comparable & acceptable to Canadian/New Zealand nursing programs. For example, there are Haitian nurses in the US who are working as non-certified nurses aides, because their education and credentials do not even meet requirements for sitting board exams to become a Certified Nurses Aide. First research any websites on the nursing profession to see what their licensing requirements are. You will also want to check on current openings, salaries offered, taxation, cost of living, etc. before you consider immigration. Do your "due diligence" before you try to find an agency or start applying to immigrate! Canada has very high tax rates and the General Sales Tax (GST is 15% in Ontario, for example); cost of living is generally higher than the US, for example. Canada Health controls salaries, etc. Canadian health professionals are flocking to the US due to the sorry state of socialized medicine. New Zealand: high tax, high cost, low wages, but they do need nurses.

Here is some information on qualifying in Saskatchewan http://www.healthcareersinsask.ca/Careers/index.aspx who is recruiting a lot of foreign nurses right now. Nurses are paid a lot here (SK just negotiated a 35% wage increase), cost of living is pretty reasonable and GST is a federal tax - the same across the country - at 5%. IMHO we have one of the best healthcare coverages in the world.
