immigrant nurse in Canada

immigrant nurse in Canada?
situation. what if someone becomes an immigrant in Canada (as a given) ok. They have a background degree in nursing (bachelors) from their home country but failed to get any experience as a nurse after qualifying. What are the chances of them applying as a nurse in Canada?? do they need to go back to their home country to get the neessary skills and experience to qualify in Canada even tho they're immigrants already? thanks

They would need to qualify in Canada to work in Canada

You simply need to contact the nurse licensing board in the province you live in and ASK what ualifications the nurse needs to have. This person may need to take some courses, and probably an exam...and maybe a practical work course. If you do not know how to contact the licensing board, go to a local hospital personnell dept and ASK...they can get you in touch with the right people.

They would have to contact the college of nurses(our licensing bodies are called colleges) in the province where they wish to work. They will have to provide transcripts of their education for the college to evaluate and the college will decide if they are eligible to write the CRNE. Also the person will have to go through the proper immigration channels to be able to work legally in Canada.Currently there are not many jobs in the nursing field in Canada right now, especially for new grads or nurses with little experience.
