I think it depends on the type of diploma, it takes a 4 year course and a bachlours in nursing to get a degree as a registered nurse in Canada but there are lower positions of nursing assistants and home care workers etc available. Your best bet would be to contact the provincial board of health associated with the province you are interested in working in for all qualifications
